He started dealing drugs to help supplement his income. It was pretty lucrative for him and his family. He most dealt weed and heroin on the streets of Brooklyn.

He was eventually arrested for his criminal activities and sentenced to prison time at Rikers Island where he began to associate with some bad influences. It was at Rikers that he would meet the Nine Trey Gang. That's a prison subset of the Bloods.
